TRI To The Rescue: TRI Treats Roof Damage After A SOHO Fire

How TRI Remedied Water Damage From A Fire Hose In This NYC Building

A massive fire broke out in a Manhattan building. It rapidly spread across the rooftop of a residential building, prompting a swift and coordinated response from both firefighters and concerned neighbors, most notably one spraying water from a rooftop hose.

While the firefighters’ quick actions were crucial in controlling the blaze, the extensive use of water resulted in significant damage to the building's interior. Water from the hoses caused damage to walls, floors, and personal belongings, leading to concerns about mold and further structural issues. Total Restoration Industries was called in to help with the remediation process.

Here’s how we tackled the water damage:

Emergency Response For Water Extraction And Cleanup Of Loose Debris/Broken Glass

This is essential. Any leftover debris can contain mold spores, which, if left untreated can cause an even bigger problem. Shards of glass can be small and cause dangerous cuts if not completely removed.

Demolition

This includes all interior walls, ceilings, and floor finishes that were damaged by water. Mold grows quickly, which means it can quickly become a problem.

Disinfection and Dry Out

Drying everything out quickly helps stop mold from growing. Disinfecting helps keep everything sanitary!

Please remember, if a fire does occur, please contact your local fire department first! They’ll do their best to save as much as they can, and put the fire out before it does too much damage. We’ll take care of the rest and make sure it’s as good as new.
